Cookie & Storage Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
The short version
- We store a few small first-party entries to remember your consent, popup and demo choices.
- Analytics and advertising cookies (Google, Meta, TikTok) load only if you consent in our banner.
- You can change your choice any time with the “Your Privacy Choices” / “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
- Checkout runs on Polar’s own site, a separate site with its own cookies and policies.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
What this page covers
This policy explains what the Bassurito website, operated by OAKWYN CORP., stores in your browser, and why. It covers cookies, local storage and session storage. For how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
There are two kinds of entries:
- Strictly necessary, first-party entries that remember choices you made. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
- Analytics and advertising cookies set by Google, Meta and TikTok. These are used only if you consent.
Your consent
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you choose Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Customize (turn analytics and advertising on or off separately).
Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel load only after you consent. If you reject, they are not loaded and do not set cookies.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep advertising cookies off by default. You can still turn them on yourself in Cookie settings.
Your choice is saved in your browser and we ask again after 12 months.
What we store (first party)
These entries use your browser’s local storage and session storage. They are never sent to our server and stay on your device.
| Entry | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
Consent choice (bassurito.consent) | Remembers your cookie choice: whether analytics and advertising are allowed, plus the time you chose. Stored as a short JSON value with analytics and ads on/off flags and a timestamp. | Local storage, first party | Until you clear this site’s data; we ask again after 12 months |
Popup state (bassurito.offer) | Remembers that the email signup popup was shown, closed or answered, so it doesn’t keep showing. Value: “shown”, “dismissed” or “joined”. | Local storage, first party | Until you clear this site’s data |
Demo upgrade nudge (bassurito.nudged) | Remembers that the demo’s upgrade nudge was already shown in this tab, so it appears only once. Value: “1”. | Session storage, first party | Until you close the tab |
These entries do not contain your email address or anything that identifies you. The in-browser demo runs on your device and does not send audio or pattern data anywhere.
Analytics and advertising cookies
If you consent, these vendors’ scripts load and may set the cookies below. We use them to measure traffic, measure how our ads perform, and show and optimise our ads. They collect information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, ad-click identifiers, and events such as an email signup, a checkout click, or a purchase.
Purchase conversion. After checkout, our thanks pages (https://bassurito.com/thanks in English and https://bassurito.com/es/thanks in Spanish) send a purchase event to these tools only if you consented to analytics or advertising. The event includes the order ID or checkout ID and the purchase value. It never includes your email address or name. If you did not consent, no analytics or advertising tools load on that page.
This list is typical, set by the vendor, and may change. Vendors control their own cookie names and lifetimes.
| Vendor | Cookie | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (Analytics 4) | _ga | Analytics: distinguishes visitors | 2 years |
| Google (Analytics 4) | _ga_<container-id> | Analytics: keeps session state | 2 years |
| Google (Ads) | _gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_gb | Advertising: ad conversion measurement and ad-click identifiers | 90 days |
| Meta (Pixel) | _fbp | Advertising: identifies browsers for ad delivery and measurement | 90 days |
| Meta (Pixel) | _fbc | Advertising: stores the last Meta ad-click identifier | 90 days |
| TikTok (Pixel) | _ttp | Advertising: measures and improves ad performance | 13 months |
| TikTok (Pixel) | ttcsid, ttcsid_<pixel-id> | Advertising: session tracking for ad measurement | 13 months |
| TikTok (Pixel) | ttclid | Advertising: stores the TikTok ad-click identifier | 13 months |
Google, Meta and TikTok use this data under their own privacy policies. Under some US state laws, advertising cookies may count as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. See the Privacy Policy.
Checkout and email signup
When you click to buy, you go to (or open a window from) Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar’s checkout is a separate site with its own cookies and policies. Polar and its payment processor, Stripe, may set their own cookies on their checkout pages. We don’t control those cookies. See Polar’s and Stripe’s privacy and cookie policies for details.
If you submit the email signup form, your browser loads a small script from Mailchimp’s domain (list-manage.com) to send your email address to our list. This happens only when you submit the form, not when you just visit the site.
Emails from our email provider, Mailchimp, may contain links or images. Check its policy to learn what it records when you open an email.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request data to deliver and secure the site under its own policies.
How to change your choice
- On our site: use the “Your Privacy Choices” / “Cookie settings” link in the website footer to reopen the consent banner and change your choice at any time.
- Global Privacy Control: turn on GPC in a browser or extension that supports it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep advertising cookies off by default. You can still turn them on yourself in Cookie settings.
- Vendor settings: use each vendor’s ad settings (your Google, Meta and TikTok ad preferences).
- Industry tools: the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) offer consumer opt-out tools.
Withdrawing consent stops these tools from loading on future page views. Cookies already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them (steps below).
Blocking cookies or storage won’t break the site. The consent banner or popup may just appear again.
How to clear or block storage in your browser
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites. Search for this site and delete its data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
- Safari (Mac): Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Safari (iPhone / iPad): Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → Website Data.
- Private / incognito windows clear cookies and local storage automatically when you close them.
Menu names change between browser versions. Your browser’s help pages have the latest steps.
