Software License Agreement

Last updated: October 11, 2026

The short version

  • One user, up to 2 computers you own.
  • Personal and commercial music production are both fine.
  • Your generated MIDI is yours, royalty-free.
  • Don’t share, resell or extract the engine. Updates are free for the product’s lifetime.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.

This agreement

This Software License Agreement (“License”) is between you and OAKWYN CORP. (“we”, “us”). It covers the Bassurito Max for Live device (the .amxd file), its updates, and any documentation (together, the “Software”).

By downloading, installing or using the Software, you agree to this License. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use it. Please read this License before buying: all sales are final.

The Software is licensed, not sold.

What you may do

Once you have paid, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license for one user. You may:

  • Install and use the Software on up to 2 computers that you own.
  • Use it for personal and commercial music production, live performance, teaching and content creation.
  • Keep backup copies for your own use.
  • Save the device inside your own Live sets on those computers.

“One user” means one person. A studio, school or company with several users needs one license per user. Contact us for multi-seat pricing.

What you may not do

Except where the law says these limits can’t apply, you may not:

  • Share, redistribute, sell, rent, lend or sublicense the Software or your download link.
  • Upload the .amxd to file-sharing sites, sample packs, template packs or public repositories.
  • Include the device in Live sets or project files you share or sell to others.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, unfreeze or disassemble the Software to copy its engine.
  • Extract the engine, rules, algorithms or pattern data, or bulk-generate output, to build a competing product, dataset, library, plugin, or AI/ML training set.
  • Remove or change copyright notices, branding or license information.
  • Resell modified versions of the Software.

Max for Live devices can be opened in the Max editor. Opening the patch to learn, troubleshoot or adapt it for your own use is fine. Copying or distributing it is not.

Your output is yours

You own the MIDI you generate with Bassurito. Use it in your own productions — released, sold, streamed, synced or performed — royalty-free. No credit or extra fee is required.

The one exception is in What you may not do: don’t mass-produce output to build a competing pattern library, MIDI pack or similar product.

OAKWYN CORP. keeps ownership of the Bassurito engine, the device, and its underlying data and software. Only your output is yours.

Updates

Your purchase includes free lifetime updates, meaning free updates for as long as OAKWYN CORP. offers and supports Bassurito. Updates are delivered through your original download link or the Polar customer portal.

We may discontinue the product with reasonable notice. If we do, you can keep using the versions you already downloaded under this License.

Every update is covered by this same License, unless we provide new terms with it.

We are not obliged to release updates on any schedule. Updates may change features or need newer versions of Live or Max.

Ownership

OAKWYN CORP. and its licensors own the Software, including the Bassurito engine, the device, and its underlying data and code, and all intellectual property in them. We keep all rights not expressly granted in this License.

Third-party requirements

The Software needs Ableton Live 12 and Max 9 (Max for Live). These are third-party products. You must buy and license them separately, under their own terms.

Ableton, Ableton Live and Max for Live are trademarks of Ableton AG. Max is a trademark of Cycling ’74. Bassurito is not affiliated with or endorsed by either. We are not responsible for changes they make that affect the Software.

Termination

This License lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if:

  • you seriously break this License (for example, by sharing the Software), or
  • you file a chargeback or otherwise reverse the payment, or receive a refund.

When it ends, you must stop using the Software and delete all copies. Music you already made and released with its output remains yours. Sections on ownership, output, warranty and liability survive termination.

You may end this License at any time by deleting all copies.

Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise it will be error-free, meet every need, or work with every setup.

Consumers keep any rights the law gives them that can’t be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, OAKWYN CORP. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, data, projects or session files. Our total liability under this License is limited to the amount you paid for the Software.

Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law. Please back up your work.

General

  • This License is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Exclusive venue is the state and federal courts located in Volusia County, Florida, subject to the arbitration clause in our Terms and any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
  • If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • This License, together with our Terms, is the whole agreement about the Software.
  • You may not transfer this License. We may transfer it as part of a sale of our business.
  • You must follow applicable export and sanctions laws.
